Today, a team from the Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC), Karnataka, which included members of the Standing Committee and the Town Planner, visited the Civic Center, the headquarters of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). Understanding and exchanging perspectives on the planning strategies used by MCD in Delhi’s development was the aim of the tour.
Along with top representatives from the MCD Building Department (Headquarters) and Town Planning Department, the delegation was welcomed by Jitender Yadav, Additional Commissioner, MCD.
The delegation was received by Jitender Yadav, Additional Commissioner, MCD, along with senior officials from the Town Planning Department and the Building Department (Headquarters) of MCD.
A detailed presentation was made by the officials of Town Planning and Building Departments of MCD, highlighting the prevailing planning mechanisms, including adherence to Master Plan norms and Building Bye-laws. The presentation also showcased MCDтАЩs initiatives aimed at streamlining the layout plan and building plan sanction processes, particularly under the framework of the Ease of Doing Business.
The HDMC delegation shared insights into their current practices in urban planning and development and appreciated the efforts made by MCD to simplify procedural aspects for citizens and builders alike.

The meeting concluded on a cordial note and both the Corporations expressed hope for continued knowledge exchange and collaboration in the field of urban planning and governance.
