Mayor of Delhi Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh stated that the elections for the Ad-hoc Committee on Scheduled Caste Welfare and Quota Implementation had to be postponed due to the disorder and chaos instigated by the Aam Aadmi Party. He alleged that AAP members repeatedly disrupted the election process, snatched ballot papers, attempted to break the ballot box, and even got into physical altercations with security personnel. As a result, the proceedings had to be halted twice. When a fresh attempt was made to conduct the elections, AAP again created a situation of unrest, forcing the process to be postponed once more.
Mayor Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh emphasized that the Aam Aadmi Party neither respects the Constitution nor follows legislative norms. “Every time, they indulge in similar acts of lawlessness,” he said. He further added, тАЬWhen AAP held power in the MCD for two and a half years, they did not allow the formation of special and ad-hoc committees. Now that the Bharatiya Janata Party has formed the government in the MCD, these committee elections are being conducted. AAP’s policies are against constitutional and legal principles. They thrive on a politics of blame and disruption because they are unwilling to accept constitutional order.тАЭ
Singh congratulated all the newly elected Chairpersons and Vice-Chairpersons of the MCDтАЩs ad-hoc committees. He reaffirmed that the BJP is continuously working for the betterment of Delhi’s citizens and is committed to providing improved services. He said that AAPтАЩs politics of disruption will not be allowed to hinder developmental work for the people.
