AAP’s false development claims exposed, Delhi Government to conduct asset mapping of all schools.

Delhi’s Education Minister Ashish Sood, today responded to a tweet by Arvind Kejriwal stating “the condition of Delhi is deteriorating badly.” Shri Sood remarked that the government which once claimed to lead an “education revolution” and called its leader a “man of development” had left Delhi in a state of ruin, and now expected that in just five and a half months, everything would magically change overnight. He said, “Our children are suffering because of their misdeeds. In Nithari, there are six government schools built before, during, and after their tenure. Since 2020, there have been continuous complaints of waterlogging in these schools. Whenever waterlogging occurs, students have to be sent home. Whose government was in power since 2020? It was the so-called, self-proclaimed ‘man of development’ and ‘father of the education revolution.’”

Sood further stated that the previous government failed to bring any improvement to Delhi in ten years. For the past five years, their MLA represented this area, yet no progress was made. Continuous waterlogging in these six schools has put children at risk of electric shocks. An inspection of the area revealed that there used to be a pond nearby, where rainwater would naturally drain. This pond, however, was concretised during Shri Kejriwal’s government, which led to the waterlogging crisis. It was also discovered that the pond was paved over under pressure from land mafia.

He added that the Delhi Government is investigating whether the concretisation of the pond was funded through MLA funds. “After the investigation, a major revelation will be made in the coming days,” he said. “On this Independence Day, we are being forced to shut down these six schools because they have been filling up with knee-deep water every year since 2020.”

The Education Minister held the previous government entirely responsible for this situation. “Since 2020, the Education Department has been writing to them repeatedly, but the so-called father of the education revolution was busy selling liquor. The so-called man of development was busy demanding Bharat Ratna for those entangled with liquor mafias. These children have been suffering for years, and today, due to mismanaged development in the surrounding areas and the government’s failure to fix drainage in five years, 14,214 students are affected.”

He said the Public Works Department (PWD) has been asked to conduct an immediate investigation to prevent any major accidents or mishaps.

He also remarked, “The leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party have crossed all limits of shamelessness. We are repairing these six schools as quickly as possible, and at the same time, we will carry out asset mapping of all schools in Delhi, including mapping of other facilities. The previous government’s false claims of education and development are being exposed daily, yet shamelessly, AAP leaders try to pin the blame for waterlogging on the present government.”
