BJP Spokesperson Urges Extension of Sunio Amnesty Scheme Till February 2026

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi, keeping in mind the interests of ordinary citizens of Delhi who had accumulated large arrears of property tax, launched a property tax settlement scheme this year (Property Tax Amnesty Scheme 2025) popular as Sunio Amnesty Scheme. By availing of this scheme, thousands of ordinary citizens in Delhi have been able to resolve their pending property tax dues.

As a result, there has also been a significant increase in the amount collected by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi in the form of property tax.

In this regard, Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor has written a letter to the Mayor of Delhi, Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh, and the Commissioner, Ashwani Kumar, requesting that while the Sunio Amnesty Scheme 2025 introduced for property tax has benefited both the public and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, there are still thousands of property taxpayers who could not avail of its benefits due to financial constraints or lack of awareness.

Therefore, in public interest and in the financial interest of the Corporation, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi should extend the Property Tax Sunio Amnesty Scheme 2025 till 28 February 2026.
