In a swift breakthrough, the Delhi Police of the North-East District has solved a robbery case reported earlier this week, arresting a repeat offender and recovering the stolen earring of the victim. The arrest was made by a dedicated team of PS Dayalpur following a focused investigation.
The incident took place on February 24, 2026, when a 20-year-old woman was targeted by a motorcycle-borne snatcher while walking near Gali No. 11 in the Dayalpur area. According to her complaint, the accused approached from behind and forcibly snatched her earring before fleeing the spot, leaving the victim shocked.
Acting on the complaint, police registered FIR No. 89/26 under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and immediately launched an investigation. A special team under the supervision of Station House Officer Inspector Paramvir Singh Dahiya began gathering evidence and analyzing local inputs to identify the suspect.
Based on sustained efforts and technical clues, police apprehended the accused, identified as Nasir (34), a resident of Old Mustafabad, Delhi. During interrogation, Nasir confessed to his involvement in the robbery. Police also recovered the stolen earring from his possession, successfully restoring the victim’s property.
Further verification revealed that the accused is a habitual offender with a criminal history involving at least 10 previous cases related to robbery, theft, and violations of the Arms Act. Officials said his arrest has helped prevent further incidents in the area and strengthened ongoing efforts to curb street crime in North-East Delhi.
Police officials confirmed that further investigation is underway to examine the accused’s possible involvement in other similar cases.
