Deputy Mayor of Delhi Jai Bhagwan Yadav today inaugurated the spraying of insecticides using drone technology to prevent vector borne diseases in waterlogged areas of Ward No.4 Alipur in the Narela Zone. The drone will spray insecticides over a wide area which will help in preventing vector borne diseases like dengue, malaria, and chikungunya. Drone with a 10 liter tank capacity can spray insecticide over a two kilometer area in seven minutes.
Yadav appealed to the citizens of Delhi that the key to preventing vector borne diseases like dengue, malaria and chikungunya is to eliminate mosquito breeding at the source. He urged people to avoid waterlogging in their neighborhoods. He urged them to thoroughly clean empty containers, junk and other items that can accumulate water. He urged them to cooperate with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi’s DBC staff. He emphasized that with the cooperation of citizens, we can control vector borne diseases.
