MCD Leader of House Pravesh Wahi in his letter to hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Vinai Kumar Saxena has requested the LG to simplify the lease freehold process of Delhi Development Authority (DDA) plots and flats and to make the process online within a fixed time frame, to provide relief to the people of Delhi.
In his letter to the LG, the MCD Leader of the house stated that “As many of the amenities in MCD like house tax, birth and death certificates and licenses and other important departments of Delhi are being made online and facilities are being provided to the people at their homes, similarly the process of making the lease of DDA plots and flats free-hold should also be made online. He said that by making all these facilities online, cases of corruption have also reduced considerably.
The Leader of the house said in his letter that “under various schemes of DDA in Delhi, lakhs of plots and flats have been allotted in the years before 1990, which later have a provision to convert from lease hold to free-hold.”
Wahi further said that “but the process of making it free-hold is so long and complicated that the general public and the elderly, women have to face a lot of trouble, due to which the image of DDA is constantly getting tarnished in front of the general public. Therefore, you are requested to direct the concerned officials to take action to simplify the process of freeholding the lease of DDA plots and flats within a fixed time frame.”
Pravesh Wahi said that MCD under the leadership of BJP is making efforts to provide maximum civic amenities to the public.
