Under the “Delhi’s Freedom from Garbage : Cleanliness Campaign”, the Hon’ble Mayor of Delhi, Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh today visited the Legal Department located on the 17th floor of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi’s headquarters at Dr. S.P.M. Civic Centre. On this occasion, the Mayor personally took the initiative to remove old files and electronic waste accumulated in the office premises.
Through this symbolic and self-motivated act, the Mayor sent a strong message to MCD employees and Delhi residents to stay vigilant about cleanliness and actively contribute towards maintaining a garbage-free environment.
Mayor Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh stated that the Municipal Corporation of Delhi has enthusiastically launched the month-long “Delhi’s Freedom from Garbage” cleanliness campaign, which will run from August 1 to August 31, 2025. Extensive cleaning activities will be carried out across all 12 zones, with active participation from residents, schools, market associations, and community groups.
The Mayor emphasized, “Cleanliness is not just a responsibility—it is a civic duty. When we keep our workplaces and surroundings clean, we move toward building a healthier and more beautiful Delhi.”
As part of the campaign, systematic activities such as office clean-ups, removal of scrap materials, and proper e-waste management will be undertaken across all departments of the Corporation.
On the occasion Municipal Councillor Mr. Sandeep Kapoor, senior MCD officials, staff members, and members of the sanitation team were also present.
