Mayor of Delhi Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh announced that the Municipal Corporation of Delhi has extended the deadline for availing the 10% rebate on property tax for the current financial year 2025–26 till 31st August 2025. This decision has been taken to facilitate taxpayers, expand the tax base, and ensure enhanced revenue collection.
He stated that a large number of taxpayers are coming forward, and the corporation is receiving an encouraging response regarding property tax payments. In view of this active participation, the rebate period was initially extended till 31st July. Now, considering the positive response from taxpayers and the success of the ‘SUNIYO Scheme 2025–26’, this rebate period has been further extended by one more month, till 31st August 2025.
Chairperson of the Standing Committee, Satya Sharma, said that the ‘SUNIYO’ scheme and the 10% rebate are gaining popularity among taxpayers and are playing a key role in encouraging revenue collection. Given the enthusiastic participation of citizens and the growing success of the ‘SUNIYO – Property Tax Settlement Scheme 2025–26’, the rebate period has been extended by another month.
Satya Sharma urged all citizens to pay their property tax by 31st August 2025, take advantage of the 10% rebate, and join hands with the MCD in contributing to the development of the national capital.
