The South Zone of Municipal Corporation of Delhi along with National Cadet Corps (NCC) today organised a ‘Swachhta Marathon’ in Vasant Kunj on occasion of ‘National Sports Day’.
The 3 km Swacchta marathon saw enthusiastic participation from hundreds of NCC cadets, volunteers from Fit India, and members of the public.

The event witnessed active support from Delhi Traffic Police and Swachhta Sainiks of MCD South Zone, who ensured smooth conduct by forming a human chain to manage traffic diversions.
The run was flagged off near Priya traffic signal and concluded at Masoodpur flyover. The marathon began with a strong message on Swachhta, echoing chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” that set a patriotic and energetic tone.

In the men’s category, Cadet Ankit Raj secured the Gold Medal, while in the women’s category, Cadet Tanvi Singh emerged victorious. Special medals were also awarded to MCD’s Swachhta Sainiks for their tireless contribution to keeping the city clean.
The event concluded with the administration of the Swachhta Pledge, where all participants reaffirmed their commitment to a cleaner Delhi, resonating once again with spirited chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.”

This marathon not only celebrated fitness and unity but also reinforced the message of collective responsibility towards a Swachh and Green Delhi.
