MCD’s Mega Clean-Up: Delhi Zones Shine with Coordinated Sanitation Drives

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) carried out special cleanliness drives across various zones of the city as part of its ongoing efforts to maintain hygiene and ensure a clean environment for citizens. These drives were conducted with the active participation of MCD officials, sanitation workers, and in coordination with other departments such as the Public Works Department (PWD) and the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB).

In the Rohini Zone, a cleanliness drive was conducted in Rithala, Ward 23, under the guidance of the Deputy Commissioner, Rohini. A total of 90 sanitation workers participated in the initiative, which involved the use of 1 Loader, 1 RRT, 1 MRS, 4 Auto Tippers, 1 E-Rickshaw, 2 BOVs, and 3 Tractors. The team focused on effective waste removal and cleaning of roads, streets, and public spaces to improve the local environment.

Similarly, in the City SP Zone, a special cleanliness drive took place at Aruna Nagar and Majnu Ka Tila, Ward 73. About 130 sanitation workers were deployed for this activity, which was supervised by senior officials from the Government of NCT of Delhi. The drive covered residential and commercial areas, streets, and service lanes. Machinery such as 1 Loader, 2 Hyvas, 8 Auto Tippers, 8 E-Rickshaws, 2 Water Sprinklers, and 2 ASGs were used during the operation. Nearly 14 metric tonnes of garbage were collected and lifted, highlighting the corporation’s commitment to maintaining public hygiene.

In the South Zone, a large-scale cleanliness drive was organized at Ekta Vihar, RK Puram, on 8th November 2025. The activity covered approximately 5 km area and was jointly undertaken by MCD, PWD, and DUSIB. Around 340 sanitation workers participated in the drive, supported by 8 tippers, 10 trucks, 2 loaders, 5 water tankers, 2 sprinklers, and 15 fogging machines. The drive focused on cleaning two Cleanliness Target Units (CTUs) and Garbage Vulnerable Points (GVPs), ensuring a cleaner and healthier environment for residents.

Through these intensive efforts, the MCD reiterated its dedication to making Delhi cleaner and healthier by conducting regular sanitation drives and encouraging community participation in maintaining cleanliness in every part of the city.
