MCD Organises 2,333 Property Tax Camps Across 12 Zones to Facilitate Taxpayers: Mayor Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh

Mayor Appeals to Citizens to Avail Benefits of the Property Tax Amnesty Scheme 2025-26 – SUMPATTIKAR NIPTAAN YOJANA (SUNIYO)

The Mayor of Delhi, Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh, stated that in a citizen-centric initiative to promote tax compliance and provide relief to taxpayers, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has successfully organised 2,333 property tax camps across its 12 zones. These camps aim to assist property owners in filing their taxes and availing the benefits offered under the Amnesty Scheme.

He further informed that citizens are actively participating in these property tax camps. To date, 56,753 taxpayers have already benefited from this initiative.

Mayor Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh said that in light of the overwhelming response to the “SUNIYO” scheme, the MCD plans to organise more property tax camps in the coming days to ensure that all eligible taxpayers can avail the benefits under the Property Tax Amnesty Scheme 2025-26 – SUMPATTIKAR NIPTAAN YOJANA (SUNIYO).

Under SUNIYO, taxpayers can avail a complete waiver of property tax arrears, including interest and penalties, for periods prior to the financial year 2020-21. This benefit is available provided they pay the principal amount of property tax—without interest or penalty—for the current year (2025-26) and the previous five financial years (i.e., FYs 2020-21 to 2024-25). A further 59,411 taxpayers have availed themselves of the benefits under ‘SUNIYO’, and ₹145.19 crore in tax has been collected.

To avail of this benefit, taxpayers are required to file their online Property Tax Return (PTR) by visiting the official MCD portal at:

Mayor Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh urged all property owners to make full use of this golden opportunity under SUNIYO and settle their outstanding property tax dues without incurring penalties or interest.

He also informed that, for the convenience of taxpayers, the MCD has extended the last date for lump sum payment of property tax with a 10% rebate for the financial year 2025-26 up to 31st July 2025.
