NDMC Gears Up for India AI Impact Summit 2026 with World-Class Preparations

In line with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to position India as a global leader in innovation, technology, and good governance, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has unveiled an extensive action plan to transform the capital into a clean, green, and futuristic city ahead of the prestigious India AI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled from 15th to 20th February.

Briefing the media after a comprehensive inspection at Sardar Patel Marg, Chanakyapuri, NDMC Vice Chairman Kuljeet Singh Chahal emphasized that the Council is fully prepared to welcome international delegates with world-class infrastructure, aesthetics, and sanitation standards.

Beautification & Horticulture:
Over 5,000 decorative potted plants have been installed across Connaught Place, Khan Market, Aurobindo Marg, Teen Murti Marg, and other key corridors, replicating the grandeur of the G-20 Summit arrangements. Around 15 floral boards and fountains are being set up at major roundabouts, while a Tulip Festival at Shanti Path lawns will showcase DelhiтАЩs vibrant horticultural identity. Routine works like hedge trimming, tree pruning, and green belt cleaning are already underway.

Road Safety & Infrastructure:
Advanced devices such as Flexible Urban Delineators, Solar Raised Pavement Markers, Anti-Glare Boards, and Speed Arrester Studs have been installed at Ashoka Road and Parliament Street, with work at Mother Teresa Crescent set to finish by 12th February. Signage boards across 41 major roads are being upgraded, pedestrian crossings repainted, potholes filled, and footpaths repaired with red sandstone and interlocking pavers.

Illumination & Branding:
NDMC is installing 300 decorative lights along Sardar Patel Marg to Central Park and branding 400 light pillars with AI-themed visuals. Ten iconic buildingsтАФincluding Palika Kendra, Connaught Place Inner Circle, and Lok Nayak BhawanтАФwill be specially illuminated to create a futuristic cityscape.

Sanitation & Waste Management:
A strict zero-accumulation policy has been adopted, supported by 180тАУ200 Safai Karamcharis deployed nightly, mechanized sweepers, and pressure-jetting machines. 25тАУ30 porta cabins with emergency cleaning equipment have been set up, while a 24├Ч7 Control Room at ICCC ensures real-time monitoring and complaint redressal.
