In the General meeting of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi held today, BJP’s Ms. Satya Sharma won the election for a vacant seat on the Standing Committee. Ms. Satya Sharma defeated her rival from the Aam Aadmi Party, Hema, by a margin of 35 votes. Ms. Sharma secured 130 votes, while Ms. Hema got 95. A total of 227 votes were cast, out of which 2 were declared invalid.
Mayor Shri Raja Iqbal Singh congratulated Satya Sharma and said that her extensive political experience would certainly benefit the Corporation. He also extended his best wishes to Ms. Hema for putting up a strong fight.
It is noteworthy that Satya Sharma is the councillor from Ward No. 226, Gautampuri, while Hema is the councillor from Ward No. 184, Jaitpur.
