Construction Freeze: All non-essential construction activities have been halted. This includes excavation, piling, trenching, and the open operation of ready-mix concrete plants.
School Safety Measures: Physical classes up to Grade 5 may be suspended, with a shift to online learning recommended to protect young children from toxic air exposure.
Vehicle Restrictions: BS-3 petrol and BS-4 diesel four-wheelers are now banned from operating in Delhi and NCR districts. Inter-state diesel buses are also barred from entering or running within Delhi.
Material Transport Curbed: The movement of construction materials like sand and cement on unpaved roads has been prohibited to prevent dust dispersion.
Industrial Shutdowns: Stone crushers, mining operations, and hot-mix plants not running on clean fuel have been ordered to shut down immediately.
Generator Ban: Diesel generator sets are banned except for emergency and essential services.
Remote Work Advisory: Private companies have been advised to implement work-from-home or hybrid models to reduce commuting-related emissions.
These measures are part of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) activated during severe pollution episodes. Officials urge citizens and institutions to cooperate fully to mitigate the health risks posed by the current air emergency.
