Joint operation by Delhi Police and Firozabad Police; accused who snatched a Sub inspector’s pistol injured
In Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi Police carried out a half encounter of a criminal in a joint operation with the Firozabad Police.
The injured criminal was the same accused who, on January 22, had snatched the pistol of a Delhi Police beat constable and opened fire before fleeing from the spot.
A few days ago, police personnel from a Safdarjung police station were patrolling the Safdarjung area of Delhi when they noticed a quarrel taking place on the road. As the policemen reached the spot to ascertain the cause of the dispute, one of the suspects snatched a police pistol and opened fire. The policemen narrowly escaped unhurt.
During investigation, police found that one of the criminals was a known BC (bad character) from the Malviya Nagar area, with multiple criminal cases registered against him.
Following this, several police teams were formed. Using manual and technical surveillance, inputs were gathered about the accused. Acting on this information, Delhi Police conducted an encounter near Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh and apprehended two criminals.
According to sources, the criminal who had snatched the police pistol sustained a bullet injury to his leg.
