Delhi’s Identity Gets a Makeover: CM Launches Hunt for Official Logo

In a landmark move to visually define the soul of the National Capital Territory, the Delhi government has kicked off the process to create its first-ever official logo. Spearheaded by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the initiative aims to encapsulate Delhi’s rich heritage, vibrant culture, progressive spirit, and the collective aspirations of its citizens.

To ensure public participation, the government hosted a nationwide logo design competition via the MyGov portal. The response was overwhelming—over 1,800 entries poured in from across India before the September 26 deadline. Each design seeks to capture the essence of Delhi, from its ancient monuments to its modern skyline.

Expert Committee to Pick the Final Emblem
To steer the selection process, CM Gupta has constituted a high-level expert committee chaired by the Secretary of the Department of General Administration. The panel includes design and cultural experts from leading universities, with the Joint Secretary of the same department serving as Member Secretary. Their task: to evaluate submissions and shortlist the design that will become Delhi’s visual signature.
