Deputy Mayor of Delhi, Jaibhagwan Yadav, launched a pesticide spraying campaign using drone technology along the flood-affected areas on the banks of the Yamuna River near Yamuna Bank to prevent mosquito-borne diseases.
On this occasion, Shahdara South Zone Chairman Ram Kishore Sharma, Vice Chairman Raju Sachdeva, and senior officers and staff of the Public Health Department were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Mayor Jaibhagwan Yadav said that the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) is continuously striving to provide citizens with a safe and healthy environment. The riverbank areas of the Yamuna are more prone to mosquito breeding, and protecting people from diseases such as malaria, dengue, and chikungunya is the top priority.
He further stated that spraying pesticides through drone technology is a modern and effective method that allows large and inaccessible areas to be covered quickly. The MCD will carry out spraying operations using this technology in difficult-to-reach locations across Delhi.
The Deputy Mayor added that the use of drone technology marks a significant step in preventing mosquito-borne diseases. He expressed confidence that this initiative will play a key role in curbing the spread of dengue, malaria, and chikungunya. He also emphasized that public cooperation will make this campaign even more effective.
