Family Dispute Turns Violent at Turkman Gate Hospital; 4 Arrested Within 5 Hours

In a swift operation, the Delhi Police Central District team arrested four accused within five hours of a brutal stabbing incident that took place inside a hospital at Turkman Gate in Central Delhi. The accused allegedly attacked a man and injured two others following a family dispute that escalated into violence.

According to police, the incident occurred on February 24, 2026, when a PCR call was received at Chandni Mahal Police Station regarding a stabbing at Sharda Medical Centre. The victim, identified as “A,” had accompanied his sister, who was admitted for medical treatment. During the visit, her husband Wasim arrived at the hospital along with his mother, leading to a heated argument between him and his in-laws.

The verbal altercation soon turned into a physical confrontation between Wasim and his brother-in-law “A.” Police said Wasim then called his brother Faeem for support. Faeem reached the hospital along with Salman and Mohd. Ali on a scooty. The trio allegedly launched a sudden knife attack on “A,” stabbing him in the stomach and causing serious injuries. When the victim’s father and maternal uncle intervened to protect him, they were also assaulted and sustained injuries.

Based on the statement of the injured complainant and medical evidence, police registered FIR No. 156/26 under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at PS Chandni Mahal, and an investigation was initiated immediately.

Swift Investigation and Arrest

A dedicated police team, working under senior officers of Central District, conducted intensive local enquiries and analysed CCTV footage from the hospital and surrounding areas. Using technical surveillance and field intelligence, police quickly identified and tracked down the accused.

The arrested accused have been identified as Wasim (31), Faeem (33), Salman (27), and Mohd. Ali (23), all residents of Chandni Mahal. Police also recovered the scooty used in the crime and seized three weapons, including two button-operated knives and one locally made knife.

During interrogation, Wasim allegedly admitted that he had ongoing disputes with his wife and blamed his brother-in-law for interfering in his family matters. Police said the attack was pre-planned, with the accused arranging knives before reaching the hospital.

Police Statement

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central District) Anant Mittal said the case was solved promptly due to quick response and coordinated investigation.

“The accused were identified and arrested within five hours of the FIR registration through sustained efforts, technical analysis, and CCTV examination. The weapons used in the crime and the scooty have also been recovered,” the DCP stated.

Police said further investigation is underway.
