Following the passage of the historic The Delhi School Education (Transparency in Fixation and Regulation of Fees) Bill, hundreds of parents and guardians from various parts of the capital reached the Delhi Assembly today to meet Hon’ble Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta. They expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Minister, calling this decision nothing less than a lifeline for Delhi’s middle-class and common families.
Welcoming all the parents, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that this bill is not just a legal provision but a promise to safeguard the future of every child in Delhi. “We firmly believe that education is not a business, but the right of every child. Protecting this right and making the education system transparent is our top priority,” she said.
Parents, visibly emotional, shared that arbitrary fee hikes by private schools had long placed a heavy financial burden on many families. “For the first time, our voice has truly been heard and turned into law. Now we are confident that our children’s education will no longer be disrupted due to financial constraints,” they said.

The Chief Minister assured the parents that this law will be implemented strictly and any kind of arbitrariness will not be tolerated. She further stated that to enhance public participation in education, parents will be directly involved in the fee determination process — thereby strengthening the bridge of trust and dialogue between schools and parents.
