Israeli Ambassador Reuven Azar extended an invitation to Mayor to visit Israel

Israel- a technologically advanced country proved its mettle in recent war with Iran. Israeli Ambassador to India, Mr. Reuven Azar, paid a courtesy visit to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) today.

During the meeting, Mayor apprised the Ambassador of the various civic services being provided by MCD to the citizens of Delhi and shared that multiple initiatives are underway to make Delhi cleaner, greener, and pollution-free. Mayor highlighted that MCD is continuously working in key areas such as solid waste management, primary education, basic healthcare, maintenance of parks, street lighting, toll and property tax collection, parking and site management, and conservation of cultural heritage. He further emphasized MCD’s focus on adopting new technologies and innovations to promote a smart, efficient, and citizen-centric administration.

Mayor also discussed the ongoing war situation in Israel and its economic impact with the Ambassador. Expressing solidarity, he stated that India and Israel share a strong relationship based on friendship, cooperation, and mutual respect. “We stand with Israel during these difficult times,” he affirmed.

Ambassador Reuven Azar appreciated Delhi’s cultural heritage and civic infrastructure and extended an invitation to Mayor to visit Israel to witness its advanced technology and innovations firsthand.

Commissioner Mr. Ashwani Kumar stated that Delhi can learn from Israel’s successful models in waste management, online services, smart technologies, and public convenience systems. He said that such collaboration would help bring in new ideas, technologies, and better services. MCD will work to improve solid waste management, health, education, park maintenance, and other civic services. This kind of exchange of ideas and experiences will further strengthen the functioning of the Corporation.

He was warmly received by the Mayor of Delhi, Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh, and Commissioner Ashwani Kumar. Also present on the occasion were Deputy Mayor Jai Bhagwan Yadav, Leader of the House Pravesh Vahi, Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee Sundar Singh, Additional Commissioners, and other senior officials of MCD.

Municipal Corporation of Delhi remains committed to adopting modern technologies to ensure better facilities for the citizens of the city.
