Municipal Corporation of Delhi checks 266 offices during the special drive, issues 44 notices and launches 34 prosecutions.
During the special drive MCD launched prosecution against ESI Building ITO,CBSE DDU Marg, Sanskrit Bharti Bhawan DDU Marg,CR Building ITO,Vikas Bhawan ITO,ITPO etc. MCD issued notices to Hindi Bhawan DDU Marg,Lok Kalyan Samiti, District Court Rouse Avenue,Prasar Bharti,PWD Building ITO,AGCR ITO,Dayal Singh Library etc. for mosquito breeding.
Mayor of Delhi Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh said that MCD is working on war footing to prevent Vector borne diseases. Working in this direction MCDs Public Health department carried out a special drive in 266 government offices situated near ITO. During the special drive mosquito breeding was found at 50 places which were destroyed at the spot. During the special drive officials of the Public Health department of MCD checked 5139 containers and Aedes mosquito breeding was found in 110 containers. MCD after finding mosquito breeding issued 44 notices and launched 34 prosecutions.
Delhi Mayor said that all the offices in Delhi should appoint a Nodal Officer. He said that the Nodal Officer must ensure that water stagnation should not occur at places like water tanks,Junk, break down Vehicles, Flower pots,coolers etc. and overhead water tanks are covered.
