Municipal Corporation of Delhi in ongoing drive against the property tax defaulters has sealed two commercial properties today in Keshavpuram Zone of MCD. The two properties were located in Paschim Vihar and GT Karnal industrial area and had an outstanding property tax dues totalling over Rs. 1.33 crore approx against their properties.
The property owners failed to pay the outstanding property tax dues, despite being given ample opportunities by MCD to pay outstanding dues.
All taxpayers having outstanding property tax dues are advised to avail the ongoing SUNIYO Scheme and deposit their pending property tax to avoid any coercive action under the DMC Act, including sealing of properties. The Suniyo scheme is valid only upto 31 March 2026.
Under SUNIYO scheme, taxpayers can avail a complete waiver of property tax along with interest and penalties, prior to the financial year 2020-21, provided that they pay the principal amount of property tax, without any interest and penalty, for the current year and the previous five financial years (i.e., FYs 2020-21 to 2024-25).
MCD reiterates its commitment to strict enforcement of property tax regulations and urges all taxpayers to settle their dues in a timely and accurate manner.
