Swift action by the Gokalpuri police has brought relief to a victim of street crime, as officers successfully arrested two accused in a mobile phone snatching case and recovered both the stolen device and the motorcycle used in the offence.
On February 26, 2026, a woman walking along Wazirabad Road near Loni Gol Chakkar was targeted by two individuals on a motorcycle. They snatched her mobile phone and fled, prompting the registration of an e-FIR (No. 80017315/2026) under section 303(2) BNS at Police Station Gokalpuri.
A dedicated team led by Inspector Umed Singh pursued the case with sustained investigation. Their efforts paid off when they apprehended two suspects:
- Mohd. Sakeel, 22, resident of Indira Vihar, Delhi
- One CCL (ABC), 17 years old
During interrogation, the police recovered the stolen mobile phone and the motorcycle (No. DL-5SCK-5294) used in the crime. Investigators also revealed that Mohd. Sakeel had a prior record, being previously involved in a robbery and kidnapping case.
Authorities confirmed that further investigation is underway to determine possible links to other incidents and to strengthen the case against the accused.
