MCD Commissioner Khirwar Reviews Keshavpuram Works, Orders Faster Cleanliness & Infrastructure Upgrades

Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Commissioner Sanjeev Khirwar today conducted an extensive inspection of various sanitation and development projects in Keshavpuram Zone to review the progress of ongoing works and assess preparedness ahead of the monsoon season.

The Commissioner began his visit by inspecting garbage vulnerable points at Parshu Ram Chowk and Shalamar Village Chowk. Taking stock of the sanitation arrangements at these locations, he directed officials to ensure regular lifting of municipal waste and maintain high standards of cleanliness. He emphasized the need for continuous monitoring of vulnerable points to prevent accumulation of garbage and improve the overall sanitation environment for residents.

Thereafter, Khirwar inspected the construction of a new Compactor Station being developed in Pitampura. Reviewing the progress of the project, he instructed the concerned officers to ensure proper cleanliness and upkeep in and around the compactor site. He stressed that sanitation infrastructure projects should not create inconvenience for nearby residents and that strict cleanliness standards must be maintained during the construction phase.

The Commissioner also reviewed the construction of roads being undertaken in Pitampura under the Chief Minister Development Fund. He directed officials to ensure timely completion of the projects while maintaining prescribed quality standards so that residents can benefit from improved civic infrastructure.

As part of the Corporation’s monsoon preparedness measures, Khirwar inspected the Pump House and the ongoing construction of a new drain in SD Block, Pitampura. He reviewed the status of the works and directed officials to complete all necessary measures on priority to ensure effective drainage and prevent waterlogging during the upcoming monsoon season.

The Commissioner further visited Ashok Vihar Phase-3, where he reviewed the construction of a road being developed under the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP). Expressing satisfaction with the quality and execution of the project, he appreciated the work carried out by the engineering teams and directed officials to maintain the same standards in future infrastructure projects.

During the inspection, Khirwar reiterated the Corporation’s commitment to strengthening sanitation services across the city. He directed all concerned departments to accelerate the ongoing deep-cleaning operations and special sanitation drives being undertaken in various parts of the zone. He emphasized that sustained cleanliness efforts, timely waste collection, and efficient maintenance of civic infrastructure are essential to improving the quality of life for citizens.

The Commissioner instructed officers to maintain close coordination among departments, regularly monitor field-level implementation, and ensure that all development and sanitation works are completed within stipulated timelines. He also stressed the importance of proactive measures to address public grievances and maintain a clean, healthy, and well-managed urban environment.

Khirwar reaffirmed that the Municipal Corporation of Delhi remains committed to providing better civic amenities, strengthening sanitation infrastructure, and enhancing the overall urban environment through efficient implementation of development projects and cleanliness initiatives.

During the inspection, the Commissioner was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Mohit Bansal, Engineer-in-Chief P.C. Meena, and other senior officers of the Corporation.
