Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Devender Yadav said that after the people of Delhi had inflicted a crushing defeat on the corrupt Kejriwal Government by throwing it out of power in Delhi, the long arm of the law has caught up with the leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party for their sins and corruption,
On one hand Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has summoned former Deputy Chief Minister/ Education Minister Manish Sisodia and former Public Works Department Minister Satyender Jain on June 9 and June 6, 2025, respectively, in connection with the class room construction Government schools. Congress Chief Devendra Yadav accuses BJP of Lukewarm response.
BJP is equally responsible for fostering corruption in Delhi as the ACB had filed 27,982 cases related to MCD in 2017 when BJP ruled the Corporation.
Devender Yadav said that the AAP Government had misled the people of Delhi for over 11 years with its false narrative of the “Delhi model of education and health care”, though beneath this false façade, the AAP leaders indulged in huge corruption to the tune of over Rs 2000 crore in the construction of 12,748 class rooms in Government schools, for which Sisodia and Satyender Jain have been summoned by the ACB, which was a kind of poetic justice for cheating the public who had reposed faith in the AAP, expecting good governance.
Devender Yadav said that Delhi Congress was the first to expose the liquor scam and the class room construction scam o AAP as BJP’s initial reaction to these scams were lukewarm. He said that it was no wonder that the BJP Government has not shown any urgency in prosecuting Sisodia and Jain for their corruption and loot. He said that the BJP Government was also party to the loot in Delhi as up to 2017, the ACB had filed 27,982 cases regarding corruption, complaints against officials of MCD when BJP was in power in the Corporation.
Devender Yadav said that the ACB had filed an FIR on April 30, 2025 after the President of India gave her sanction following the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) giving its nod for the prosecution of Sisodia and Satyendar Jain under the Prevention of Corruption Act, which paved the way for the registration of an FIR against the two senior AAP leaders.
Devender Yadav said that it was shocking that the BJP Government too was following the corrupt ‘model’ of Governance by Kejriwal, as despite exposing AAP’s corruption in the liquor scam and the class construct scam, the Rekha Gupta Government has not taken any step to make Sisodia and Jain accountable for looting the tax payers’ money, which establishes that BJP’s anti-corruption campaign before coming to power was just a ploy to come to power.
