MCD has fixed the parking charges at Rs. 20 per hour for four-wheelers and Rs. 10 per hour for two-wheelers. But the parking contractors charge Rs. 100 to Rs. 200 from people at the time of entry of their vehicles.

Instead of 20 rupees, parking charges are being collected from 100 to 200 rupees by the MCD contractors. IVP leader and senior corporation councilor Mukesh Goyal said that there are continuous complaints that parking contractors, in connivance with some MCD officials, are charging several times the parking fee from Delhiites.
Indraprastha Vikas Party (IVP) has demanded from Delhi Municipal Corporation Commissioner Ashwani Kumar that the rampant parking mafia in Delhi should be reined in.
Mukesh Goyal further said that it is surprising that in the last two-two and a half years the corporation officials have not taken any action against any parking contractor in the case of overcharging. Some media reports have also revealed with evidence that in almost all zones, parking contractors are looting the vehicle owners. He demanded from the MCD Commissioner that all the parking places should be inspected and strict action should be taken against the guilty contractors and the colluding officers.
