MLA Greater Kailash Shikha Rai graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Deputy Commissioner South Zone Dilkhush Meena, RWA members, volunteers and zonal heads of all departments were present on the occasion.
Speaking about the initiative, Mayor of Delhi Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh urged all citizens to actively take part in cleanliness drives within their neighbourhoods.
The Mayor said, “I urge everyone that cleanliness is not just the responsibility of the Municipal Corporation, but is the collective responsibility of all of us. Delhi will become clean only when we keep our homes, streets and neighbourhoods clean.”
During the event, hundreds of people from area RWA, market associations and sanitation staff joined MLA Shikha Rai and area councillor for the cleanliness drive on 3km stretch on Chirag Delhi road.
All zonal departments joined hands in shramdaan activities and cleanliness drive in and around Greater Kailash area. Zonal health officials carried out fogging and spray at breeding prone areas.
Apart from the main event, another cleanliness drive was organised by MCD South Zone in Fatehpur beri village under leadership of Deputy Chairman Standing Committee Sundar Tanwar and senior officials of MCD.
