Mayor of Delhi Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh announced today that the MTS (PH) contractual employees of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, who were on strike over various demands, have called off their strike after receiving assurances from the committee constituted by the Municipal Corporation’s House.
The Mayor stated that a 10-member committee had been formed by the Municipal Corporation to address the demands of the MTS (PH) contractual employees. The committee held detailed discussions with representatives of the employees and carefully listened to their issues and demands. The committee has assured that all legitimate and reasonable demands of the employees will be addressed in accordance with the rules.
Mayor Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh affirmed that the Municipal Corporation of Delhi is committed to safeguarding the interests of all its employees. The MTS (PH) contractual workers play a vital role in preventing mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue, malaria, and chikungunya. Their demands will be resolved through a lawful and transparent process to ensure that no situation of inequality or dissatisfaction arises in the future.
Mayor Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh further informed that Leader of the House Pravesh Wahi, Chairman of the Environmental Management Services Committee Sandeep Kapoor, Chairman of the Health Committee Manish Chadha, and Chairperson of the Malaria Committee Mrs. Neeta Bisht met with the striking employees, established coordination with them, and played an important role in ending the strike. He added that, based on the committee’s report, officials have been directed to take necessary action in accordance with the rules.
