The Keshav Puram Zone of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) today organized ‘Swachh Delhi Sankalp Diwas’ with great enthusiasm and public participation at Rani Jhansi Stadium, Keshav Puram, under the ongoing ‘Dilli Ko Kude Se Azadi’ campaign. On this occasion, Mayor Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh administered the pledge of cleanliness to MCD employees and local residents. He appreciated the relentless efforts and dedication of sanitation workers, stating that it is because of their hard work that the capital continues to remain clean, livable, and dignified.
The Mayor said that Delhi is not just a city but the face of the entire nation, and hence keeping it clean is the duty of every citizen. He emphasized that whenever Delhi faces a challenge, it is our sanitation soldiers who step forward and find solutions. The Mayor appealed to citizens to maintain cleanliness in their homes, streets, and marketplaces, to refrain from littering, and to use only designated dustbins and collection points provided by MCD.
The Mayor further said that if each citizen shoulders their responsibility, the ‘Dilli Ko Kude Se Aazadi’ campaign could yield transformative results. He also highlighted the importance of tree plantation and urged people to plant and nurture more trees to make Delhi not only clean but also green and pollution-free. He expressed confidence that with collective efforts of both citizens and MCD, Delhi can emerge as a model city for the entire nation.
To spread awareness about cleanliness, a Nukkad Natak based on the theme ‘Swachh Delhi Sankalp Hamara’ was staged during the event, which was highly appreciated by the audience. Through the performance, a strong message of cleanliness, responsible citizenship, and community cooperation was delivered. During the programme, all dignitaries also took part in a plantation drive and pledged to contribute towards making Delhi greener.
