9 Members Retire from Standing Committee upon Completion of Tenure

Out of a total of 18 councillors in the Standing Committee of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, 9 councillors were retired on Tuesday through a draw of lots. The process was carried out in Standing Committee meeting chaired by the Chairperson of the Standing Committee, Satya Sharma.

During the meeting, the process to retire one member each from the 12 Ward Committees was initiated. As per the provisions of the DMC Act, 9 members were retired through a draw of lots. Slips of members elected from Ward Committees were drawn during the process. In the draw, the slips of Aam Aadmi Party councillor Ankush Narang and BJP councillors Shikha Bhardwaj, Inderjeet Sehrawat, Neema Bhagat, Rajpal Singh, and Anju Devi were drawn. Additionally, out of six members elected from the House, the slips of three members—Aam Aadmi Party councillors Mohammad Aamil Malik and Mohini Jeenwal, and BJP councillor Pankaj Luthra—were also drawn.

Shikha Bhardwaj (BJP)
Anju Devi (BJP)
Inderjeet Sehrawat (BJP)
Rajpal Singh (BJP)
Neema Bhagat (BJP)
Ankush Narang (AAP)

Members elected from the House who retired

Mohini Jeenwal (AAP)
Aamil Malik (AAP)
Pankaj Luthra (BJP)

On this occasion, the Chairperson of the Standing Committee appreciated the contributions of all the retiring members and stated that they played an important role in the functioning of the Corporation during their tenure. She extended her best wishes for their future.

Chairperson further stated that under the leadership of the BJP, government the Municipal Corporation of Delhi will continue to function smoothly, and with the induction of new members, the Committee will remain committed to prioritizing public welfare and serving the best interests of citizens.
