Complaints of overcharging were received in MCD against 5 parking contractors in the areas of old Delhi. MCD took cognizance of the complaints and got these complaints verified through the team of RP Cell. During verification, MCD found that parking contractors are violating other terms of conditions of the contract as well. Therefore, the following penalties (for overcharging and other violations) totaling to Rs. 24,53,432/- have been imposed on these contractors with immediate effect:
M/s Milestone security and placement service : Rs. 1,75,430/-
M/s Giriraj Enterprises : Rs. 1,77,200/-
M/s Sh. Jagtar singh (2 parkings) : Rs. 16,45,000/-
M/s Sh. Joginder singh : Rs. 3,76,799/-
M/s Pest control Management Pvt. Ltd : Rs. 79,003/-
To verify if such violations are there on any other parking sites also, the field staff of MCD have been instructed to conduct detailed and periodic inspections of all MCD authorized parking sites in Delhi. MCD shall not hesitate in cancelling of the parking contract and blacklisting of such contractor.
For convenience of the public at large and to have utmost transparency, the list of all MCD parking sites along with their details and authorized parking rates are already on the official website https://mcdonline.nic.in/portal of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. A copy of rates is attached herewith also.
Parking charges are fixed by the MCD and no contractor is authorized to collect any amount beyond the approved rates. Citizens are appealed to be vigilant and not to pay a single penny to contractor beyond the prescribed rates. Citizens are also encouraged to immediately report any irregularities through MCD’s helpline number 311 or MCD Mobile App or any other means including emails/physical copies etc. to help MCD to curb illegalities.
