Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) president Devender Yadav said that Congress will hold a ‘Nashe Ke Virudh Congress Ka Yudh’ campaign against widespread drug abuse by young people, in all the 70 Assembly segments of Delhi tomorrow (Saturday), as the BJP Government has failed to control the drug menace and the spiralling crime graph.
Yadav said that after he launched the campaign against drug abuse at his own Assembly segment Badli on May 26, 2025, it received tremendous momentum as Congress workers all across Delhi started making concerted efforts to create awareness among people, particularly the youth, against drug abuse and rising crime rates, as it has not only destroyed the lives of unemployed youth but also spiked the crime rate. He accused the Rekha Gupta Government and the previous Aam Aadmi Party regime of failing to address the escalating crisis.
‘Nashe Ke Virudh Congress Ka Yudh’ campaign had begun with a peace march in the Badli Assembly constituency, which will be replicated in all the 70 Assembly constituencies tomorrow, as drug addiction was a curse which was nipping many promising lives in the bud.
Congress workers have pledged to build a drug-free and crime-free Delhi through this campaign.“We have taken a pledge to rid the city of intoxicants, illegal liquor and criminal activities that are destroying the future of our youth,” he said. He said that the campaign, which will be held under the banner of ‘Aao Milkar Kare Shapath, Dilli Ko Banaye Nasha Mukt’, will be held with the participation of thousands of Congress workers and local youth. He said that despite spending Rs 12,000 crore annually on law enforcement, the crime graph continues to rise in the Capital, which exposes the governance failures of the present BJP Government and the previous Aam Aadmi Party Government which was fully immersed in corruption, and nothing else.
Devender Yadav said that the so-called ‘Triple Engine’ BJP Government has woefully failed to ensure the safety and security of the people. He said that Congress stands with the people in their fight for a peaceful life as the Government in power has completely neglected their welfare, safety and security.
