Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta reiterated her government’s commitment to the development of Yamunapar. She announced that rapid development work would be undertaken in the region and assured that funding would never be an obstacle. The Chief Minister stated that the government would allocate the required budget in line with developmental assessments, without hesitation. She made these remarks at Vastrika-2025, held at Ashok Bazaar in Gandhi Nagar, Asia’s largest ready-made garments market. Mrs Gupta stressed that her government would spare no effort in placing Yamunapar once again at the forefront of Delhi’s growth.
The event was organised by the Association of Wholesale Ready-Made Garments Dealers. On this occasion, the Chief Minister engaged with representatives, traders, and entrepreneurs from the textile industry, praising their contributions. She observed that Gandhi Nagar’s garment sector is not only a major hub for apparel supply in Delhi but also across the country, and assured that the Delhi Government would take all necessary measures to elevate it to the international stage.

The Chief Minister further announced that Yamunapar would now witness accelerated development with the active participation of public representatives. She affirmed that any budget required for the region’s development projects would be approved immediately. She also requested East Delhi MP and Union Minister of State for Road Transport, Harsh Malhotra, and Yamunapar Development Board Chairman, Arvinder Singh Lovely, to prepare and submit detailed assessments of the region’s needs, assuring that the government would act promptly on their recommendations.
On public transport, the Chief Minister made a significant announcement that the new route mapping of DTC electric buses would commence from Yamunapar, ensuring greater convenience and accessibility for commuters.
Highlighting the Gandhi Nagar Ready-Made Garments Market, Rekha Gupta described it as a source of pride not only for Delhi but for the entire country. She noted that in its golden journey of the last 50 years, the market had embodied Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s call of ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘One District One Product’. She assured that the Delhi Government would extend full support to the textile industry from branding Indian products and enhancing quality standards to global promotion. She added that initiatives like Vastrika-2025 would prove to be milestones in propelling Delhi’s economy to new heights.
The Chief Minister also remarked that Delhi had lagged behind in the past 10–12 years but now had the opportunity to reclaim its leadership. She affirmed that the city is moving ahead on a new path of development. She further underlined that a major objective of the Delhi Government is to restore the uninterrupted and clean flow of the River Yamuna. To this end, improvements will be made to water and sewer pipelines, public toilets and related infrastructure.
The event was attended by MLA Anil Goyal, Kapil Khanna (President, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Delhi Province), and other dignitaries.
