Delhi Mayor Pravesh Wahi strongly condemned the conduct of Aam Aadmi Party councillors during the meeting of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi held today. He said that a detailed discussion on air pollution and sanitation matters of vital importance to the health of Delhi’s residents—was scheduled for the session.

However, AAP councillors disrupted these proceedings by creating an uproar and damaging public property thereby undermining the dignity of the House.
The Mayor has strongly denounced this misconduct by the AAP councillors and has referred the matter to the Corporation’s Disciplinary Committee to initiate strict disciplinary action against those responsible, in accordance with the rules.
Pravesh Wahi said that AAP councillors arrive at the House with the sole intent of creating a disturbance. He added that the party’s leadership spends most of its time outside Delhi, showing no genuine concern for the city’s pressing issues or its people.

Pravesh Wahi stated that, just a few days ago, 1500 sanitation workers were regularized, which increased their monthly salary from ₹18,500 to approximately ₹50,000. Initiatives taken in the interest of employees do not sit well with the Aam Aadmi Party councillors who instead seek to disrupt the proceedings and waste the House’s time.
The Municipal Corporation meeting was scheduled to include a half-hour discussion on air pollution and sanitation alongside the adoption of key decisions regarding cleanliness in light of the upcoming festive season.
Upon learning of these public-interest initiatives, the AAP councillors disrupted the proceedings and made indecent remarks toward a Congress councillor.
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) is continuously undertaking new initiatives for the public good. As part of this, every councillor will be allocated ₹25 lakh for development projects in their respective wards, and 2,500 additional sanitation workers will be engaged for a period of three months to ensure improved cleanliness during the upcoming festive season.
Pravesh Wahi said that earlier today, Union Home Minister Amit Shah flagged off projects worth ₹8,941 crore aimed at cleaning the Yamuna River. He further mentioned that Delhi’s Chief Minister, Rekha Gupta, has approved a proposal to produce gas from 6,600 metric tons of cow dung a proposal that was formally passed during today’s meeting.
Mayor Pravesh Wahi remarked that Aam Aadmi Party councillors frequently avoid constructive discussions on matters of public interest, choosing instead to create unnecessary disruptions during the House proceedings. Despite this the Municipal Corporation of Delhi has prioritize the interests of its citizens by successfully passing several proposals for the public good.
