MCD Engineering Department Sees Major Shuffle; 14 Junior Engineers Transferred in Two Office Orders

A round of transfers in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi’s (MCD) Engineering Department has set the corridors buzzing, with 14 Junior Engineers (Civil) being transferred and posted with immediate effect through two separate office orders dated October 22, 2026.

The orders, issued by the Engineering Department headquarters, cite administrative exigencies and the recommendations of a committee as the basis for the reshuffle. The transfers cover several engineering divisions and zones, including Central, South, North, Shahdara and Karol Bagh, among others.

Who Moves Where?

In the first order, seven Junior Engineers have been transferred. Gaurav Yadav moves from EE(B)-II/CLZ to EE(M)-II/KPZ, while Mayur Kumar Sangal and Mohd. Asif have been posted to EE(B)-II/CLZ. Deepak Kumar moves to EE(M)-IV/NGZ, and Jitender Kumar Meena shifts to EE(M)-IV/SSZ. Rahul Kumar Jayaswal and Nitin Maan have also been assigned new postings.

The second order brings another seven transfers. Govind Sharan Sharma moves from the Heritage Cell to EE(Pr)/CLZ, while Kanwar Pal, Dushyant, Dwarka Kushwaha, Md. Talha Faruque, Deepak Kumar and L.N. Meena have been assigned new positions across different engineering divisions and zones.

Routine Reshuffle or More to Follow?

While the official orders describe the exercise as an administrative requirement, the movement of personnel across multiple divisions is likely to draw attention within the civic body’s engineering network. Such transfers can affect the allocation of responsibilities and the day-to-day functioning of engineering teams.

Both orders state that the transfers have been approved by the competent authority and will take effect immediately. Whether this reshuffle is part of a wider administrative exercise remains to be seen.

For now, the message from the corridors of the MCD Engineering Department is clear: the postings have changed, and the affected officials are expected to move into their new assignments without delay.
