‘Delhi Ko Kude Se Aazadi’ Swachta Campaign by Najafgarh zone and Central zone

Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Najafgarh zone organized a Plogging Drive today in Dwarka as part of the ongoing “Delhi Ko Kude Se Aazadi” cleanliness campaign.

Najafgarh Zone chairperson Savita Sharma, Deputy Zone Chairperson Devendra, Additional Commissioner Veer Singh Yadav, Deputy Commissioner of Najafgarh Zone, Santosh Kumar Rai, NSUT Vice chancellor, Prof Anand Srivastava prominent ex army servicemen and other senior officers of MCD took part in the drive, showcasing their commitment to a cleaner and greener Delhi.

Speaking about the initiative, Mayor of Delhi Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh stated, “Today on occasion of international youth day, we are carrying forward the mission of Swachh Bharat of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji and under the leadership of Hon’ble CM Rekha Gupta , we will acheive the objective of clean and green Delhi”

Around 200 students, residents, market association members and officials participated in the plogging drive, collecting litter from in and around the main Dwarka road and its adjoining areas.

He said the initiative not only aimed at cleaning the area, but also instilled a sense of environmental awareness and civic responsibility among youth and residents.

Participants collected litter as they ran till 5 km stretch from NSUT in Dwarka sector 13 to Vegas Mall and GGSIP university.

In his address, MCD Additional Commissioner Veer Singh Yadav urged all citizens to actively take part in cleanliness drives within their neighbourhoods.

Prior to the activity, participants took a ‘Swachhata Pledge’, reinforcing their commitment to a cleaner, greener India.

MCD Standing Committee Chairperson Satya Sharma leads Plog Run in Central Zone

Central zone of MCD under leadership of Standing Committee Chairperson Smt Satya Sharma organised a plog run and cleanliness drive today.

MCD central zone Chairman Yogita Singh, Deputy Commissioner Central zone Shashwat Saurabh, area councillors and other senior officials of the zone were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Standing Committee Chairperson Satya Sharma stated that “We all need to come together to make Delhi greener and cleaner. We want every citizen of Delhi to become a part of ‘Delhi ko Kude se Azadi’ cleanliness campaign and make it a grand success.”

Over 100 volunteers, including both residents, market association members, NGO volunteers and employees, participated in the run, picking up waste as they jogged from Nehru enclave to Kalkaji.

The plog run aimed to raise awareness about the consequences of littering and promote a cleaner and healthier India.
