Delhi Mayor Pravesh Wahi Flags Off 35 Vehicles to Strengthen Sanitation in Rohini Zone

Mayor of Delhi Pravesh Wahi yesterday flagged off 35 vehicles to bolster sanitation operations in the Rohini zone, inducting them into the Municipal Corporation of Delhi’s sanitation fleet.

Mayor Wahi emphasized, “Making Delhi clean and hygienic is our top priority; we are committed to Delhi’s cleanliness.” He noted that the MCD is organizing various programs to commemorate the completion of 12 years of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tenure, aiming to realize the Prime Minister’s vision of Swachh Bharat.

Mayor Wahi highlighted that vehicles such as Hyva trucks, JCB machines, tractor-trolleys, and dumpers have been inducted to accelerate garbage collection and strengthen waste management infrastructure in Rohini. He reiterated that the MCD is working to achieve a clean and green Delhi as envisioned by Hon’ble Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta.

He also urged citizens to cooperate by segregating waste at the source into four categories in line with new waste management rules. “By making cleanliness a habit, we can all contribute to making Delhi clean and hygienic,” he said.

The event was attended by Rohini Zone Chairman Amrit Jain, Deputy Chairman Narendra Kumar Singh, Deputy Commissioner Anshul Sirohi, and senior MCD officials.

This initiative is being seen as a major step in improving sanitation services and reinforcing Delhi’s commitment to sustainable urban cleanliness.
