It is known that elections are held every year for the post of MCD representative in DDA, but for the last two and a half years, since the time of the Aam Aadmi Party led government, these elections could not be held. Since the start of BJP regime, the Standing Committee and all the statutory, special and ad hoc committees have been formed and the election process of MCD representatives in DDA has also been approved.
Accordingly, elections for the above post will be held in the House meeting of August 21, 2025. The last date for filing nomination for this post was August 14. Elections will be held as per the procedure prescribed under DDA (Election of Representatives of Delhi Municipal Corporation) 1958. The tenure of these posts is for the full year of the current corporation.
Councillor from ward no. 219 B.S.Panwar filed the nomination in presence of Mayor Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh, Chairperson of Standing Committee Satya Sharma and Leader of House in MCD Pravesh Wahi. B.S. Panwar is a Municipal Councillor from Dilshad Garden Ward (Ward No. 219). On the occasion of his nomination, Sh B.S. Panwar thanked the leaders of the MCD and the BJP party leadership.
B.S.Panwar (Ward No. 219) Filed nomination in presence of Mayor Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh, Chairperson of Standing Committee Satya Sharma and Leader of House in MCD Pravesh Wahi and Krishna Devi Raghav (Ward No.116) filed nomination for two members of Municipal Corporation of Delhi as representative in the Delhi Development Authority. The election of these two members will be held in the Ordinary Meeting of the Municipal corporation of Delhi to be held on 21st August 2025 at 2:00 pm in Aruna Asaf Ali Auditorium.
Mayor of Delhi Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh said that two members from MCD are nominated as members in the Delhi Development Authority. He said that only two councillors have filed nominations for two members so their election will be held unopposed in the meeting of the House to be held on 21st August 2025.
