The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has sealed three illegal jeans dyeing units in northeast Delhi’s Sonia Vihar area as part of its ongoing crackdown on unauthorised industrial activities. Electricity connections to the units were also disconnected to immediately stop the illegal operations.
According to the MCD, the three units were operating within a large premises where more than 10 heavy-duty machines had been installed for dyeing jeans. The action was carried out by the civic body’s North-East Zone as part of a wider enforcement drive against illegal industrial operations.
The crackdown comes a day after the MCD sealed three illegal units in the West Zone. The civic body has also conducted drone surveys over the past two days to identify locations where unauthorised industrial activities are suspected to be taking place.

Along with physical inspections, the MCD is using drone surveys and information from other sources to identify and monitor suspected illegal units. Officials said further action would be taken against units found violating applicable rules and regulations.
The civic body said its enforcement drive would continue across Delhi, with a focus on curbing illegal industrial activities and ensuring compliance with prescribed norms.
