In a powerful tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his 150th birth anniversary, the Government of Delhi has unveiled the “Sardar @150” campaign — a two-month celebration of national unity, youth engagement, and cultural pride.
Announced by Education Minister Ashish Sood at the Delhi Secretariat-It aligns with the Central Government’s vision of “Ek Bharat, Aatmanirbhar Bharat, Ekjut Bharat, Viksit Bharat.”
National Unity Water Yatra: From Yamuna to Jhelum
In a symbolic gesture of unity, 150 students from Delhi’s 15 educational districts will collect water from the Yamuna River and carry it to 25 rivers across India — including the Jhelum in Jammu & Kashmir and the Musi in Hyderabad. Sacred waters from these rivers will be brought back and offered at the Sardar Patel statue at Patel Chowk during a ceremonial Jalabhishek led by the Chief Minister on October 31. A documentary capturing this journey will be screened during the main event.
Unity Marches Across Delhi
On October 31 at 6:00 PM, “Ekta Padyatras” will be held across Delhi’s 11 revenue districts, culminating at the National War Memorial. Over 5,000 participants — students, teachers, NSS, NCC, and My Bharat volunteers — will walk in solidarity. From November 1 to 25, a 150-kilometer march will span Delhi’s 10 districts, led by MPs, MLAs, Padma awardees, and distinguished citizens.
Poster Competition & Study Tour to Statue of Unity
In collaboration with the My Bharat initiative, a poster-making competition themed “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat – Aatmanirbhar Bharat” will be held across 15 districts. The top 150 students will embark on a study tour to the Statue of Unity in Gujarat. The 15 best posters will be presented to the Hon’ble Prime Minister and Home Minister.
Red Fort Cultural Showcase & “Meri Dilli, Mera Desh”
On November 1 — Delhi’s Foundation Day — the Red Fort will host a spectacular cultural programme and projection mapping show. The event will highlight the diversity of Indian states through cuisine, performances, and youth participation.
Simultaneously, under the theme “Meri Dilli, Mera Desh,” Delhi will witness a light and sound show, projection mapping, and a grand food festival celebrating India’s unity in diversity.
🇮🇳 Constitution Day Unity March
On November 26, Constitution Day, a national-level unity march will be held from the Statue of Unity, featuring youth representatives from across India. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya will address the gathering.
