The Government of NCT of Delhi continues to strengthen sustainable public transport and interstate connectivity with neighbouring states. In this direction, Hon’ble Chief Minister Rekha Guota, GNCTD, will inaugurate a new fully electric interstate bus service between Dhaula Kuan (Delhi) and Dharuhera (Haryana) and flag off 100 new electric buses, in the presence of Delhi Transport Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh.
Building on the successful operation of fully electric interstate bus services on the Maharana Pratap ISBT–Baraut (Uttar Pradesh) and Maharana Pratap ISBT–Sonipat (Haryana) routes launched after the formation of our government in the National Capital, the Delhi Transport Departments is now introducing the Dhaula Kuan–Dharuhera e-bus service to further enhance regional mobility through clean and modern transport solutions.
Under the new service, DTC will operate three fully electric buses in each shift on the route, offering commuters a comfortable, safe, reliable and affordable alternative to private vehicles.
The Dhaula Kuan–Dharuhera electric bus service will operate on a fixed timetable. From Dhaula Kuan (Delhi) to Dharuhera, services will run at 06:30 hrs, 07:00 hrs, 07:30 hrs, 14:45 hrs, 15:15 hrs and 15:45 hrs. In the return direction, from Dharuhera (Haryana) to Dhaula Kuan (Delhi), buses will operate at 09:45 hrs, 10:15 hrs, 10:45 hrs, 18:00 hrs, 18:30 hrs and 19:00 hrs, ensuring convenient travel options during both peak and non-peak hours.
The route will pass through key locations including Dhaula Kuan, HR Rajokri Border, Gurugram, Kherki Daula, Rampura, Manesar, Panchgaon, Vyaspur YNR, Sidhrawali and Dharuhera.
The new service is expected to significantly benefit daily commuters such as office-goers, students and industrial workers residing in and around Dharuhera, Manesar and Gurugram, while ensuring seamless connectivity to Delhi via Dhaula Kuan. By encouraging a shift from personal vehicles to electric buses, the corridor is also expected to help reduce traffic congestion and vehicular emissions on the Delhi–Gurugram–Manesar–Dharuhera stretch, while strengthening DTC’s interstate ridership and revenue on a high-demand route.
In addition to the new interstate service, 100 new electric buses will be added to DTC’s fleet, further accelerating Delhi’s transition towards clean public transport. These low-floor, air-conditioned buses are designed to enhance commuter comfort and are equipped with modern passenger amenities, including CCTV cameras, panic buttons, real-time vehicle tracking systems and accessibility features for persons with disabilities.
Speaking ahead of the launch, Delhi Transport Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh said,“Tomorrow’s launch marks another important step in expanding clean, reliable and affordable public transport beyond Delhi’s boundaries. The new Dhaula Kuan–Dharuhera electric bus service, along with the addition of 100 e-buses, reflects our focus on improving regional connectivity, reducing pollution and providing safer, modern commuting options for citizens. DTC will continue to strengthen interstate electric mobility on corridors where demand is steadily growing.”
The expansion of interstate electric bus services reinforces DTC’s long-term vision under the Green Delhi Mission to promote sustainable mobility while supporting the economic and social integration of Delhi with neighbouring regions.
