New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) today carried out a Special One-Hour Intensive Cleanliness Drive across prominent residential and commercial areas in its jurisdiction, delivering quick, visible, and high-impact sanitation results.
The cleanliness drive conducted from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM today, the initiative was designed as a focused, time-bound operation aimed at achieving immediate on-ground transformation.
As part of the drive, NDMC teams undertook deep cleaning activities in key residential pockets including Kaka Nagar Residential Colony and Blocks 1 to 18 of the Central Government Employees Residential Complex at BKS Marg.
Simultaneously, major commercial areas—particularly Connaught Place’s A Block, G Block, and the inner, middle, and outer circles along with adjoining radial roads—were intensively cleaned to enhance public sanitation and improve the visitor experience in these high-footfall zones.

To ensure maximum efficiency, eight Palika Sahayaks were deployed at each location, supported by manual sweepers equipped with sweeping trolleys for rapid collection and disposal of waste. Visibility banners were displayed wherever available to enhance public awareness and highlight NDMC’s commitment to sustained cleanliness efforts.
Unlike routine sweeping operations, this special drive was conceptualized as a “rapid-response sanitation action”, enabling teams to swiftly cover sensitive residential stretches and busy commercial corridors. Under the supervision of the concerned ASI and field staff, workers focused on deep sweeping of internal lanes, approach roads, footpaths, dust pockets, litter-prone areas, and public-facing marketplaces to ensure thorough and measurable improvement.
The coordinated and time-bound effort resulted in clear on-ground enhancements, reaffirming NDMC’s dedication to maintaining clean, hygienic, and citizen-friendly urban spaces. Through such targeted interventions, NDMC continues to raise the standard of urban sanitation and strengthen public confidence in sustained municipal service delivery.
