In a high-level interaction yesterday, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Sardar Taranjit Singh Sandhu, chaired a dialogue session with leading industry representatives to strengthen Dwarka’s position as a major economic and business centre.
The LG emphasized the creation of a clean, pollution-free, and labour-intensive industrial ecosystem in Dwarka that can generate large-scale employment for the local workforce. Highlighting Dwarka’s proximity to the international airport, robust connectivity, and evolving urban ecosystem, he said the sub-city is uniquely positioned to attract investments across commerce, hospitality, healthcare, education, and technology.

Industry leaders from real estate, infrastructure, hospitality, and healthcare sectors joined senior officials from DDA, Delhi Government, and ITPO. The session focused on improving ‘Ease of Doing Business’, streamlining approvals, and making Dwarka a more attractive destination for investors.
The LG underlined the need for rationalizing planning norms, including Floor Area Ratio (FAR), and stressed sector-specific policy measures to enhance Delhi’s competitiveness as an investment hub. Industry representatives suggested strengthening infrastructure, research and innovation facilities, single-window clearance, and boosting hospitality and tourism infrastructure.

DDA reiterated its commitment to unlock Dwarka’s investment potential through integrated planning, infrastructure upgrades, and investor-friendly policy reforms. Officials highlighted the recently approved Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) policy, designed to ensure seamless and time-bound approvals.
Reaffirming Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of promoting ‘Ease of Doing Business’, the LG said the administration is focused on building a transparent, efficient, and investor-friendly ecosystem to accelerate sustainable growth, generate employment, and advance Delhi’s journey towards ‘Viksit Delhi’.
