Mayor Pravesh Wahi Inspects Saraswati Vihar and Rani Bagh Areas of Keshav Puram Zone, Issues Directions to Strengthen Sanitation Arrangements

Delhi Mayor Pravesh Wahi today conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Saraswati Vihar and Rani Bagh areas under the Keshav Puram Zone. On the occasion, area councillors Shikha Bhardwaj and Jyoti Aggarwal, former MLA Jai Bhagwan Aggarwal, Zonal Deputy Commissioner Mohit Bansal, and senior officials were present.

During the inspection, Mayor Pravesh Wahi reviewed the sanitation arrangements in the Saraswati Vihar area in detail and issued necessary directions to officials to maintain cleanliness in the area. He stated clearly that providing citizens with a clean and healthy environment is the Corporation’s highest priority, and any negligence or laxity in sanitation management will not be tolerated.

Drawing inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Mayor planted a sapling in Saraswati Vihar Park and reaffirmed his commitment to environmental conservation and a greener Delhi. He also urged citizens to plant more trees and take proper care of them. He stated that under the leadership of Delhi Chief Minister Smt Rekha Gupta, all efforts are being made to transform Delhi into a clean and green city.

Subsequently, the Mayor personally swept the premises of Sharda Mandir to spread the message of cleanliness and appealed to people to actively participate in keeping their surroundings clean and tidy.

In Saraswati Vihar, the Mayor also took an important step toward strengthening the area’s drainage system by formally inaugurating the construction work of an outfall drain through a traditional coconut-breaking ceremony. He instructed officials to ensure that the project is completed within the stipulated timeline and with high quality standards so that residents can be relieved of problems such as waterlogging.

During the inspection, the Mayor also visited the DDA Market area and directed officials to further improve sanitation arrangements there. He also instructed the concerned authorities to ensure regular pruning and maintenance of trees in the area.

Thereafter, Mayor Pravesh Wahi inspected the Rani Bagh area and assessed the ground-level status of sanitation arrangements. He sought information from officials regarding ongoing cleanliness drives and emphasized the need to take necessary steps to further improve civic amenities.

During the inspection of Rani Bagh Chowk, the Mayor, keeping in view the increasing traffic pressure and parking issues in the area, directed officials to examine the feasibility of constructing a multi-level parking facility. He stated that practical and long-term solutions should be explored to provide convenience to local residents and traders.

The Mayor also instructed officials to take necessary action to remove encroachments from Rani Bagh Chowk and its surrounding areas. He said that ensuring the orderly use of public spaces and facilitating smooth traffic movement are among the Corporation’s key priorities.

During the visit, the Mayor interacted with local residents and listened carefully to their concerns and suggestions. He directed the concerned officials to ensure that the complaints and demands received are addressed on a priority basis.

To make the waste disposal system in the Rani Bagh area more effective, the Mayor instructed officials to examine the possibility of installing a compactor in place of the existing garbage dumping point. He stated that adopting modern waste management systems can help make the area cleaner and more organized.

At the conclusion of the inspection, Mayor Pravesh Wahi once again directed officials that no negligence in sanitation management, public services, or the implementation of development works would be accepted. He emphasized that the Municipal Corporation of Delhi is fully committed to providing better services to citizens and that all officials must ensure regular monitoring at the ground level.
