MCD Commissioner Sanjeev Khirwar inspects Civil Lines Zone

Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Commissioner Sanjeev Khirwar today carried out an extensive inspection of the Civil Lines Zone, reviewing sanitation, pollution control, and waste management facilities, while reiterating the Corporation’s commitment to a cleaner, greener capital.

Accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Civil Lines Zone Shashi Pratap Singh, Engineer‑in‑Chief P.C. Meena, and other senior officials, the Commissioner visited key sites across the zone to assess ongoing civic works.

At Jahangir Puri, Khirwar inspected the Construction and Demolition (C&D) waste plant, which has a processing capacity of 2000 tone’s per day. He directed officials to install protective sheets and water sprinklers to minimize dust pollution, beautify the facility with shrubs along the access road, and prepare an urgent action plan to clear the accumulated piles of debris.

The Commissioner also reviewed operations at Fixed Compactor Transfer Stations (FCTS) in Model Town and Delhi University. He instructed that the Princess Road FCTS in Model Town be developed into a model facility and emphasized the need to utilize adjacent MCD land for revenue generation.

During the inspection, Khirwar stressed that civic infrastructure must directly improve the quality of life for citizens. He reaffirmed that the Municipal Corporation of Delhi is working with determination to make the city clean, hygienic, and environmentally sustainable.
