In a decisive action, the South zone of Municipal Corporation of Delhi today cracked down on illegal encroachments in Qutub institutional area of Hauz Khas ward.
A joint team of MCD along with PWD officials undertook an encroachment removal drive along Qutub Institutional Area road with the help of local Police.
During the operation, many temporary structures and platforms on road and footpath were removed with assistance of JCB machines. Encroachments were also removed along walls of educational institutes and parks as part of the drive.The action led to the seizure of shop items.
MCD Deputy commissioner South Zone Sh Rakesh Kumar said that this initiative reflects ongoing commitment of MCD in maintaining public spaces and ensuring safety and well being of all citizens.
Many illegal stalls and shops on both sides of the road and on the footpath were removed. This joint action was necessary to reclaim government land and ensure public spaces are free from unauthorized structures.
MCD will continue to take strict action against encroachers and ensure that public spaces are kept free from obstructions.
Municipal Corporation of Delhi will continue to monitor the situation and take necessary actions to maintain a clean and healthy environment in the city.
