New Delhi, August 26, 2026: Delhi’s civic administration is looking to strengthen coordination across agencies as the capital faces the everyday challenge of keeping its streets cleaner, improving basic amenities and making neighbourhoods safer and more liveable.
Against this backdrop, Mayor of Delhi Pravesh Wahi on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to Lieutenant Governor Shri Taranjit Singh Sandhu. The meeting, though described as a courtesy interaction, carried a broader message about the need for closer cooperation among the agencies responsible for Delhi’s civic infrastructure and public services.
During the meeting, the Mayor discussed several issues linked to the development of the national capital, civic amenities and public welfare. The focus was on ongoing efforts as well as priorities for the future, with the larger objective of making Delhi “clean, beautiful, safe and developed.”
For residents, these goals are not merely administrative phrases. They are reflected in the condition of neighbourhood roads, sanitation, waste management, public spaces and the quality of basic civic facilities available to ordinary citizens.
The Mayor stressed that better coordination between all concerned agencies would be crucial to achieving visible improvements on the ground. Delhi’s civic challenges often cut across administrative boundaries, making cooperation between different departments and agencies important for delivering services more effectively.
Wahi also expressed confidence that the guidance and support of the Lieutenant Governor would help accelerate development and public welfare initiatives in the capital. His message was clear: the Municipal Corporation of Delhi intends to remain engaged in improving civic services and responding to the aspirations of Delhi’s residents.
