Detailed Discussion on Local Development Works and Civic Issues
Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh held an important meeting today at the West Zone office with Deputy Commissioner Colonel Vinod Atri and senior officials of the zone. The primary objective of the meeting was to conduct a comprehensive review of the ongoing development projects, civic concerns, and local issues in the zone.
During the meeting, Mayor directed the officials to enhance the effectiveness of the sanitation system in the area. He emphasized strengthening the waste disposal mechanism and ensuring regular garbage collection from all dhalor ghars. He also directed that additional sanitation workers to be deployed in public areas such as parks and markets to maintain regular cleanliness.
Officials briefed the Mayor on the progress of the ongoing sanitation drive in the zone. Mayor specifically reviewed the status of drain cleaning and directed that the desilting of all drains be completed before the onset of the monsoon. Furthermore, he directed that nodal officers to be appointed at all waterlogging-prone areas to ensure that no water accumulation occurs.
Mayor stated that the purpose of the meeting was to better understand the issues at the ward level, engage in discussion with zonal officials, and find collective solutions. He also directed the officials to regularly visit wards along with the councillors to understand public grievances and resolve them on a priority basis.
