Unprecedented participation of young, educated unemployed youth in the Mega Job Fair, organised jointly by Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee and Indian National Youth (IYC) on the occasion of the birth day of Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium today, in which over 100 top companies in the country participated to hire unemployed to various jobs. The top 100 companies were brought under one roof to actualize the promise made by Rahul Gandhi during his Bharat Jodo Yatra and the Nyay Yatra that Congress will make every effort to provide jobs to the unemployed to empower the poor, Dalits, downtrodden and protect democracy and the Constitution.
The big companies conducted on-the-spot interviews of over 10,000 candidates to select 3391 youth who went back home with appointment letters in their hands. Compnies in the job fair were Tatas, HDFC Bank, Airtel, Flipcart, Mahindra, Amazon, Samsung, Hero, Bajaj, Voltas, Vodafone. Radisson, Axis Bank and Just Dial.
Devender Yadav went to AICC headquarters 24, Akbar Road, to extend his best wishes to Rahul Gandhi on his birthday. Thousands of Congress workers of Delhi were also present at the AICC office to wish Rahul.
Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Devender Yadav said that though over 10,000 unemployed youth ranging from 12th Class pass to post graduate, including technically qualified, had registered for the Mega Job Fair, unprecedented rush was witnessed at the stadium which was a clear indication about the level of unemployment prevailing in the Capital as the AAP Government in Delhi and the BJP Government at the Centre had done nothing over the past 11 years to provide jobs to lakhs of unemployed youth, with Delhi registering record levels of unemployment. He said that these Governments did not bother to fill the many job vacancies lying vacant in various Government departments to drive the unemployed youth to crimes and drug addiction.
AICC General Secretary (Organization) K.C.Venugopal, General Secretary Sachin Pilot and DPCC president Devender Yadav distributed the appointment letters to the selected youth, both males and females. Also present were IYC president Uday Bhanu Chib, AICC in-charge of Delhi Qazi Nizamuddin, AICC secretary Neeraj Kundan, former Delhi Minister Dr Narendra Nath, DPCC Administration In-charge Jatin Sharma, Delhi Youth Congress president Akshay Lakhra and Ajay Chikara.
Devender Yadav said that Delhi Congress had carried out extensive campaigns for over 10 days in all the 258 Block Congress Committees to register youth for the Mega Job Fair through on-line and off-line registrations, but the actual turnout of youth for the Mega Job Fair was many times more than expected which gave a glimpse of the plight of the educated unemployed youth, but they were very happy and enthusiastic to participate in the job fair to realize the promise made by Rahul Gandhi to make every effort to provide jobs to the jobless, though the party is not in power in Delhi and at the Centre.
DPCC president Devender Yadav prays at the Valmiki Mandir for the health and well-being of Rahul Gandhi and distributes walking sticks to blind students at blind schools in Panchkuian Road.
